You can prevent developing heart failure by following your prescribed treatment for any modifiable risk
 
factors such as high blood pressure (hypertension), adequate control of your diabetes, and taking
 
recommended medications after a heart attack. Adopting and/or maintaining a healthy lifestyle also help
 
to prevent the development or progression of heart failure. Make sure to schedule annual physical
 
examinations with your healthcare provider and participate in your community's health fairs where you
 
can be screened for various health conditions including high blood pressure, diabetes, and high
