Heart Failure Risk Factors

Risk factors can be modifiable and non-modifiable. Some conditions mentioned before such as

high blood pressure, heart valve disease, and diabetes are also considered to be heart failure

risk factors that you can change or modifiable risk factors. Other  risk factors are obesity,

excessive alcohol intake, and high cholesterol level in your blood.

Nonmodifiable risk factors can not be changed and include gender, race, and age. Heart failure

is more common in men but as we get older, the risk of developing the condition is the same for

both male and female3.
